Due to the remote locations visited and unique travel situation related to this program, Astronomical Tours LLC requires that ALL participants traveling to Easter Island for eclipse viewing purchase Travel Insurance. This policy is aimed at avoiding a situation where emergency medical treatment is contingent upon the capacity to pay for evacuation or emergency services while abroad.  That travel insurance must include medical evacuation with coverage of $100,000 and medical care while abroad.  Guests may purchase their own insurance or provide evidence of coverage - or purchase insurance with the assistance of Astronomical Tours. Astronomical Tours recomends Travelex Insurance for this purpose.

Policies can be purchased with and without cancellation protection.  Astronomical Tours does not require that travelers purchase cancellation insurance. Guests who do or do not purchase cancellation insurance are still bound by cancellation policies and penalties.
