Getting there and Away:
With the help of Cape Tour Charters (CTC), incoming company for Tokai
Travel, the City Center group. Currently developing regularly scheduled flights, operations company, ALCI (Antarctica Logistics Company, International) is the operator responsible for Antarctic segments. ALCI is the organization called upon in June of 2002 for the rescue of 100 ice-bound crewmen .

ALCI operated aircraft equipped to fly from CPT to NOVO, is the Tupolev Tu-154.
This is a pressurized aircraft and has reduced passenger seating to meet additional fuel safety regulations. Fuel required for return flights of this expedition must be shipped ahead via sea freighter to the station in March of 2003. The Tu - 154 may carry up to 72 passengers (16 business class seats).

One contingency factor under advisement if clouds persist on eclipse day; is to attempt a flight to observe the eclipse from above the clouds. This plan has not been approved at this time; and will be subject to availability of fuel and the final determination by the expedition leader. It is at the sole discression of the expedition leader if an flight to observe the eclipse is possible, and tour suppliers can not guarantee any availability of in-air eclipse viewing.
