At this time, Astronomical Tours and Quark Expedition are pleased to announce the Total Solar Eclipse of November 23, 2003 from Antarctica.

November 5 - December 3
- Embarking Port Elizabeth, South Africa
- Debarking Hobart, Tazmania

Space on the entire vessel is limited to 100 guests total. These spaces on the ONLY SHIP IN THE WORLD making this voyage. We don't need to impress the availability issues of this offering.

We will sail aboard the Quark Expedition Russian Icebreaker, the Kaptain Khlebnikov.

On the way down to Antarctica we include the rarely visited and wildlife rich islands of the southern Indian Ocean - Crozet, Kerguelen and Heard. These islands offer great wildlife opportunities with Macaroni, Rockhopper, Gentoo and Chinstrap Penguins as well as literally tens of thousands of nesting King Penguins along with southern elephant seals, Antarctic fur seals and vast numbers of gulls, shearwaters, albatrosses and terns. In addition we plan visits to an Emperor Penguin colony where almost 10,000 Emperors have been known to congregate in a fairy tale setting of granite islands, glaciers and icebergs as well as to remote research stations such as the Australian Casey Station.
