Southern Skies Star Party 2003 CNN
A CNN International field-reporting team visited SSSP this June. The team interviewed SSSP participants Gary Hug and Rodolfo Zalles.  SSSP 2003 worked to teach Southern Hemisphere astronomers CCD imaging skills to solicit more research participation in NEO hunting & follow-up as well as Variable Star Observing. Numerous CCD cameras, laptops and equipment was donated by SSSP 2003 to observatories in Bolivia to assist in furture work. The Astronomical Society of Kansas City placed on loan, its photometer to facilitate photometry of Eta Carinae. AAVSO teams hope to study Eta Carinae in this, it's point of maximum brightness.

The CNN team hopes to return for furture interviews with other US observers traveling to SSSP for a full feature-length television show about the work being performed here and through these participating groups.
