    Day 1. Shanghai. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. Remainder of day is at leisure.

  • July 21, 2009
    Day 2. Shanghai. The morning begins with an excursion to Zhujiajiao, a river-town near Shanghai. Later, arrive back in the city and proceed to the Oriental Pearl TV Tower in Pudong for a bird's eye view of Shanghai. Overnight in Jiaxing. BLD

    Day 3 July 22, 2009. Jiaxing. Eclipse Day at NINE DRAGONS Private Resort - Totality at 9:35am.  Duration:   5:51 This morning, after checking weather - we head to our eclipse viewing site at NINE DRAGONS YACHT CLUB MARINA, a large 500 acre private resort on the shore of the Yantze River Delta.  Here, we have highest prospect for clear, smog-free skies overlooking the eastern seaboard.   Our privately reserved yacht club patio offers a view overlooking the water, with an island Buddhist Monastery seen out to our east over the ocean.   Our site has electrical service, western bathrooms, private access and access to modern conveniences.   This afternoon, return to Shanghai. Tonight's celebration dinner at the amazing Shanghai Acrobatic Show. BLD

    Day 4. Shanghai. This morning, visit the Jade Buddha Temple and the elegant Yu Yuan Gardens before you transfer to the airport for your onward flight. B

    Day 5 In Xian. Visit the over one thousand life-size terra cotta warriors which have been standing guard by the tomb of Qin Shi Huang for 2,000 years. The individually sculpted warriors may be the archaeological find of this century. This afternoon visit Huaqing Hot Springs and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, built during the Tang Dynasty over 1,000 years ago. BL

    Day 6. Xian /Beijing This morning, fly to Beijing. Explore the Museum of China Ancient Architecture & History of Beijing or take a pedicab through the narrow Hutongs, a Beijing' World Heritage Site In the evening, enjoy a special Peking Duck dinner and Cultural Show BD

    Day 7. Beijing. Put on your walking shoes today as you will be visiting some of Beijing's most iconic sites. Visit Tian An Men Square, the largest public plaza in the world and the Forbidden City, whose acres of splendid 15th Century halls and pavilions graced with imperial treasures now comprise the Palace Museum. You also visit the beautiful Temple of Heaven, possibly the most popular symbol of China. This afternoon, enjoy the Summer Palace, a complex of pavilions, temples and galleries situated on an immense man-made lake. BLD

    Day 8. The Great Wall. A day you won't forget! Your full day tour includes a tour to the Badaling section of The Great Wall of China, one of the Seven Wonder's of the World. Also, visit the Ming Tombs, a total of 13 Imperial tombs from the Ming dynasty and the Sacred Way. BLD
